The Grand Pacific Hotel, overlooking Suva Harbor, was built by the Union Steamship Company in 1914, to serve their cruise line passengers. The hotel was designed to resemble the stateroom of and ocean liner, complete with identical plumbing fixtures as on a ship, saltwater bathrooms, and 15' wide veranda that wrapped around the building, as if a ships deck. Its been closed since 1992, awaiting restoration.
