Beachcomber (Not Don's) Drink Menu Tiki Art Reproduction T-Shirt
This is a reproduction of a drink menue cover frm The Beachcomber Polynesian Restaurants. Now, we're just talking Beachcomber, not Don The Beachcomber. Beachcomber was a chain of hotel restaurants in Canada that opened in the late 1950's. This caused good old Don the Beachcomber no end of irritation and somewhere along a lawsuit was filed to get them to drop the name. After a legal battle that went all the way to the Canadian Supreme Court, Don The Beachcomber lost out in their bid to get the Canadian chain from dropping the name.
By all accounts the Canadian Restaurants riveled anything in the States and were nicely put together with a tremendous food and rink menu.
The image we are selling comes from a drink menu for the chain. This image was scanned, cleaned up and then digitall redrawn so that it would look nice on a shirt. It also has a slight redesign as the logo on the original menu was at the bottom of the tiki, but I felt it made the design look a little bottom heavy, especially for a t-shirt, so I moved it to the top. So, you could actually say this is a brand new piece of art! We print this design on a vintage Khaki color shirt for the ultimate in retro chic design.
Not a heat transfer or a screen print, this shirt is hand-craftedly printed on our very own Direct-T-Garment printing machine. Think of this as a Giclee print on a 100% Ring Spun Cotton t-shirt. Available in men's sizes Small-XL, If you need ladies sizes please let us know. The shirt itself is a 100& Ringspun Cotton Hanes Nano T-Shirt. Think of an American Apparel shirt that will not fall apart after a couple of washings or a hard night of lifting Mai Tais in honor of the tiki gods. Ultra-light cotton jersey feels fantastic next to your skin. Contemporary, contoured fit. Preshrunk for great fit wash after wash. Two-needle sleeve and bottom hems for added durability. Narrow, ribbed collar for a more vintage look.
